Description
You don't need a bigger stage to have an idea worth sharing. You need clarity about what you know, what you've lived, and what you are uniquely positioned to say. Find the Idea Only You Can Give is a live online workshop for anyone who senses that something inside their story could matter to other people, but hasn't yet found the words for it.
Presented by Omega Institute, based in Rhinebeck, New York, this 90-minute session is led by Sonali Fiske, a TEDx speaker, former TEDx executive producer and curator, and story architect. Together, participants look underneath their lived experience to find the idea waiting there. The workshop is open to those drawing on personal experience, professional expertise, or a body of work, and no prepared talk is required.
If a message keeps tugging at you, this workshop offers a place to listen to it, from wherever you are.
What to Expect
The session is highly interactive and moves from reflection to articulation. Through guided questions and practical exercises, along with behind-the-scenes insight from years of developing speakers and curating TEDx stages, you explore the difference between your story and your idea. The work is to move from "this happened to me" toward "this is what I now understand, and why it matters to all of us."
Along the way, you will:
- Identify the central idea within your experience or expertise
- Learn how personal stories become messages with broader relevance
- Explore what makes an idea distinctive, timely, and worth sharing now
- Begin articulating your core idea in clear, compelling language
- Learn the pitfalls to avoid and how to start pitching to a TEDx event
The final 15 to 20 minutes are reserved for live questions and answers. Participants who wish to can step into the hot seat for live coaching from the facilitator, should that arise.
About MC YOGI
MC YOGI is listed as a musician for this event. Born in San Francisco, California, he grew up immersed in a diverse cultural landscape that shaped his artistic path. His early passion for graffiti art became a creative outlet and a means of self-expression, and hip-hop culture grew into a significant part of his identity. That environment nurtured the creativity that later led him toward music and spirituality. Yoga entered his life in his teenage years, giving him a deeper understanding of himself and the world around him.
The workshop itself is guided by Sonali Fiske, a leadership consultant, mentor, and speaker coach.
