I have physical limitations and can't do partner work for long periods—can I still get value from this workshop, or is hands-on pairing essential?

Most Brennan fundamentals workshops require significant partner practice to develop your ability to sense the energy field in another person—this is central to the training method, not optional. Contact Kripalu directly to discuss your specific limitations; they may offer modifications, but understand that the core value proposition is learning through direct energetic interaction with others.

Will I be certified or able to practice Brennan Healing Science on clients after this one-day workshop?

This is a fundamentals introduction only—full Brennan Healing Science certification requires a multi-level, multi-year training program. The workshop gives you foundational concepts and basic perceptual skills, but practitioners typically need hundreds of hours of additional training before working with clients.

What's the difference between attending this at Kripalu versus other venues offering the same workshop—does the location affect the experience?

Kripalu's retreat setting and spiritual community atmosphere may enhance the experience compared to a day workshop in an urban venue, but the actual curriculum and instruction are determined by the certified facilitator, not the location. Kripalu does offer optional add-ons like meals, lodging, and access to their other classes and facilities if you want to extend the experience.

Description

Imagine discovering that your hands carry the capacity to sense and shift the invisible energies that animate your body and shape your wellbeing. Hands of Light: The Fundamentals of Brennan Healing Science is an immersive residential training that awakens this innate ability in you. Held at the serene Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, MA, this healing retreat introduces you to a transformative system that bridges spiritual awareness, psychological depth, and the practical science of energetic perception—drawing directly from Dr. Barbara Brennan's groundbreaking work and seminal text.

Over this intensive experience, you'll learn to perceive and work with the human energy field as a living, responsive system. Whether you're a curious beginner, a spiritual seeker exploring new modalities, or an experienced practitioner looking to deepen your understanding, this training offers a rigorous yet welcoming introduction to Brennan Healing Science. You'll leave with tangible skills, a strengthened intuitive capacity, and a clear ethical foundation for healing work—plus powerful self-care techniques that ripple into every area of your life.

What to Expect

This residential retreat weaves together theory and direct experience. Through engaging lectures, you'll explore the anatomical and physiological dimensions of the human energy field, understand how consciousness and energy intersect within the body, and discover the energetic roots of illness and healing. In experiential practice sessions, you'll develop high sense perception—the refined ability to feel and perceive subtle energy—and master grounding techniques essential for anyone working with others' energy.

Each day combines classroom learning with hands-on practice. You'll strengthen your intuitive faculties, learn to establish healthy energetic boundaries, and develop personalized protocols for maintaining your own resilience. The atmosphere at Kripalu—a world-renowned yoga and wellness center nestled in the Berkshires—supports deep inner work, while the residential setting creates community among fellow seekers and practitioners.

Common Questions

FAQs

This is a live foundational training where you'll learn to perceive and work with the human energy field through direct practice and guided exercises—not a lecture series on theory. Brennan's books provide the conceptual framework, but this workshop emphasizes experiential learning, including partner work where you'll practice sensing and directing energy with other participants.

Brennan Healing Science operates within its own diagnostic framework (the Human Energy Field model with seven layers) and has specific hand positions and techniques, so it's technically a distinct system rather than an add-on. Many practitioners find it complements other modalities by offering a different lens for understanding energetic imbalances, though some find learning a new system requires separate study and practice to avoid confusion.

You should verify the instructor listed in the event details, as Brennan Healing Science workshops are taught by certified facilitators rather than always by Brennan herself. The fundamentals workshops typically include significant partner practice time where you work directly with others in the room, not just lecture or demonstration.

Brennan Healing Science uses her seven-layer Human Energy Field model as its core framework, which differs from and goes beyond the traditional chakra system—the fundamentals workshop centers on learning to perceive and work with these layers. While chakras may be referenced, the emphasis is on Brennan's specific anatomical energy model.
