Victoria Nhan teaches yin and restorative yoga, meditation and mindfulness, with a focus on slowing down, breathing deeply and returning to the present moment. She describes slowing down as her own lifelong challenge, and she shares these practices as tools for living in a world that prizes urgency and productivity over rest.
Born and raised in Canada, Victoria is Vietnamese-Chinese-Canadian and the daughter of immigrants. After leaving a toxic relationship, she left her job, apartment, family and friends in Toronto to explore different ways of being in Southeast Asia and Australia. A planned year abroad became six, most of them spent on the beach in Vietnam. She is now based in Toronto. She is also the founder of Yoga in Vietnam, which her site describes as Vietnam's leading digital platform for yoga and wellness.
Her work draws on mindfulness, meditation, breathwork, yoga and functional movement. She also draws on Reiki (Master level), somatic healing and body work, and Human Design, and she is a somatic attachment therapy practitioner. Her approach is trauma-informed and uses an anti-oppressive lens. She has also spoken of teachings rooted in the Plum Village Buddhist tradition. She offers classes, a members' on-demand library and one-to-one coaching.
At the heart of it is the relationship we have with ourselves. Victoria says that changing hers brought more confidence, trust and ease, and she supports others in doing the same. One student, Lynne of Toronto, describes her as having "a calm presence whether it's yoga or meditation or her own insights, wisdoms and shared teachings."
