Baron Baptiste

Baron Baptiste is a New York Times bestselling author, entrepreneur, speaker, trainer and podcaster who has spent more than 30 years teaching yoga and personal development. His work centers on helping people step into their capacity to lead themselves and others with purpose.

His parents were pioneers in human potential and holistic health. In 1954 they opened The Golden Chance, San Francisco's first yoga and physical culture center. After Baron moved to Los Angeles in the early 1990s, his power vinyasa classes in Hollywood grew from a few dozen students to over 2,000 a week. He later joined the Philadelphia Eagles coaching staff as Peak Performance Specialist, at the invitation of team owner Jeffrey Lurie.

He took his methodology to a wide audience through QVC, a daily ESPN show, PBS specials, a syndicated radio show and appearances on national television. He founded the Baptiste Power Yoga Institute in Boston, which grew into hundreds of affiliated studios and a worldwide network of certified teachers. His books include Journey Into Power, 40 Days to Personal Revolution, Being of Power, My Daddy Is a Pretzel and Perfectly Imperfect.

The Baptiste Methodology brings together asana, meditation and inquiry. Baron teaches it through leadership and teacher trainings, including Fit to Lead and the Journey Into Power Level One, and through the on-demand Baptiste Momentum Academy.

In 2010 he co-founded the Africa Yoga Project with Paige Elenson, and in 2016 he established the Baptiste Foundation, which brought these tools to veterans, first responders and at-risk youth. He also hosts The Baron Baptiste Show, which he describes as an against-the-grain, common-sense perspective on culture, mental fitness and what it takes to live true.
